Marked for Life

Marked for Life explores traditional tattooing cultures in Taiwan and across the Austronesian world. Through the themes of memory, identity, belief, and cultural belonging, the exhibition examines how the body can become a medium for carrying personal experience and collective history.

Through film, photography, research materials, and tattooing practices, the exhibition presents the cultural marks carried on the body and invites visitors to reconsider the relationships between tattooing, individuals, families, and communities.
